// A SEGAL DIVISION — AUTONOMOUS MACHINE HARDWARE

Motion is a component.

Segal Robotics builds the actuators, drives, sensors, and control stacks that move autonomous machines — and the complete systems they add up to. Humanoid assistants, construction and agricultural autonomy, warehouse automation, and maglev logistics. Engineered to deploy, not to demo.

// 01 — THESIS

Autonomy is bottlenecked by hardware, not by intelligence.

The models can already perceive, plan, and decide. What stalls every autonomous machine — a humanoid in a plant, a harvester in a field, a fleet on a warehouse floor — is the physical layer underneath: actuators that overheat, encoders that drift, drives that can't hold a loop under load. Segal Robotics builds that layer, to the tolerance the rest of the industry is still missing.

We make the components first, and we sell them as components. Then we integrate them into complete systems — the same motion stack from a finger joint to a facility-scale maglev line, designed, manufactured, and deployed by one company. No distant supply chain, no integration gap between the part and the machine.

// HEADLINE METRIC

Mean time to motion

The number we optimize: how fast a machine goes from powered-on to useful physical work, and how long it sustains it under real duty. We compress integration and extend duty cycle — and we measure both in the field, not on a bench.

// 02 — COMPONENTS

The motion stack, sold by the part.

Components come first at Segal. Six families, vertically integrated and built to the same tolerance whether they ship inside our own systems or yours. Buy a joint, a drive, a sensor — or the whole stack, pre-integrated.

Joints & armsIN PRODUCTION

Integrated Actuators

Frameless motor, harmonic or cycloidal gearing, dual encoders, and drive electronics in one sealed joint. High torque density, fully back-drivable, closed-loop force control out of the box.

  • 0.5–1,500 Nm peak, NEMA-to-hip scale
  • Dual absolute encoders, < 20 arcsec backlash
  • Embedded FOC drive + force estimation
Power electronicsIN PRODUCTION

Servo Drives & Power

Field-oriented servo drives and distributed motor controllers, scaling to high-voltage traction inverters for heavy machinery. Battery and power management built to share one bus across a whole machine.

  • 24 V joint drives → 800 V traction inverters
  • EtherCAT / CAN-FD, 20 kHz current loop
  • Functional-safety power & e-stop architecture
ProprioceptionIN PRODUCTION

Force & Torque Sensing

Joint torque sensors, 6-axis force–torque modules, IMUs, and tactile skin — calibrated as a set so a machine knows exactly what it is touching and how hard, not just where its joints are.

  • 6-axis F/T, 0.1% full-scale repeatability
  • Capacitive tactile skin, per-cell readout
  • Temperature-compensated, field-recalibrating
ExteroceptionSAMPLING

Perception Modules

Depth, LiDAR, and vision modules with on-module fusion — time-synchronized and calibrated to the machine frame, so perception arrives as a clean world model rather than a pile of raw streams.

  • Stereo + solid-state LiDAR, hardware-synced
  • On-module fusion to a single world frame
  • IP67, rated for site and field environments
Compute & controlSAMPLING

Motion Controllers & Runtime

Safety-rated edge compute running the Segal motion runtime — the layer that compiles a policy or trajectory into coordinated, force-aware torque across every joint in real time.

  • Real-time core, < 1 ms whole-body loop
  • Safety-rated to SIL 2 / PLd
  • ROS 2 bridge + Segal native runtime
ConveyanceSAMPLING

Maglev Movers & Linear Motion

Magnetic-levitation movers and linear motors for contactless, in-facility conveyance. Independent movers on shared track, positioned to the micron, with no wheels, belts, or particulate to shed.

  • Independent movers, ± 10 µm positioning
  • Contactless — no wear, no lubrication, clean-room ready
  • Modular track, dynamic re-routing under load

// Every family ships with full datasheets and the Segal runtime — available à la carte or pre-integrated into a complete system.

// 03 — SYSTEMS

Four machines on one motion stack.

Where the components add up to a machine. Each program is a full system built from the same six families — so a capability proven in one shows up in the next, instead of being rebuilt from scratch.

// 04 — KEY TECHNOLOGY
MAGLEV

Maglev: the contactless layer of the factory floor.

Wheels, belts, and conveyors are the wear surface no automated facility can escape — until you remove contact entirely. Segal maglev levitates independent movers on a shared magnetic track: silent, particulate-free, and positioned to the micron. Each mover is individually addressable, so material routes itself dynamically through the facility instead of riding a fixed line. It is the spine of our in-facility logistics, and a component you can build your own line around.

01

Contactless conveyance

No wheels, belts, or lubrication — nothing to wear out or shed. Clean-room and food-grade ready by default.

02

Independent movers

Every mover is individually controlled on shared track, so flow re-routes around load and faults in real time.

03

Micron positioning

± 10 µm repeatability turns the transport line itself into a precision stage — handoff, align, and assemble in motion.

// 05 — TECHNOLOGY

One control loop. Every machine.

The shared spine beneath every component and system: a single, force-aware loop that turns sensing into coordinated motion. We solve it once, then re-skin it from a joint to a fleet.

01In production

Force-aware from the joint up

Every actuator estimates and controls torque, so a machine works by feel — compliant with people, precise with parts — not by position alone.

02In production

Vertically integrated hardware

Motor, gearing, drive, and sensing designed together and built in-house. No integration gap between the component and the machine it moves.

03Sampling

One runtime, edge to fleet

The same real-time motion runtime compiles a policy to torque on a single joint and coordinates a floor of machines from the same model.

04Roadmap

Sim-to-real that survives the field

Policies trained in simulation, hardened against the model gap, and validated on real duty cycles — dust, heat, and load included.

// 06 — DEPLOYMENTS

Selected deployments.
